Level / Game Designer
Curiomatic is looking for an experienced Game and Level designer to work on our upcoming high-speed action platformer; Rollin' Rascal, inspired by games like Super Mario Sunshine and Sonic Adventure.
Job Requirements
- Design and build levels and environments in Unity and Blender.
- Must have a general understanding of Blender's Geometry Nodes.
- Work in engine to iterate, debug, and polish levels, enemies and boss fights.
- Own your work from blockout to polish.
- Iterate based on playtester and player feedback.
- Analyze player data and feedback to optimize mechanics and level design.
- Standardize, document, and communicate designs to the team.
- Programming skills in Unity aren't necessary but are a plus.
The Ideal Candidate
You will leverage strong creative, analytical, and communication skills to create and iterate quickly on our level design and greater game design. Each world of our game and their subsequent levels need to feel unique and thrilling for players. You'll be required to create based on our world building and lore requirements. We are however a very collaborative team and expect you to bring your own skillset and voice to the table.
We need someone who works fast, can pivot quickly, but has a clear eye for making games fun to play. Rollin' Rascal represents a lot of things, but above all is the value of fun in both single and multiplayer modes. You must understand what makes a game repayable and fun. We want our players coming back for each chapter.
